Calamity Chris

Many of you will know who Chris Kreick is, together with Sarah and the boys. If they hadn't decided to worship at Hilton when they were in Scotland then this trip wouldn't have been possible. So thanks so much guys!!

The day after we arrived, Chris wend out for his usual Friday morning game of Squash before work. Unfortunately he never made it to work as he tore his akiles tendon and ended up in the hospital. As I'm playing catch up with the blog, I'm able to give the summary version of the saga, which had the Kreicks thinking about possible surgery, longterm periods of Chris not being able to work or even drive, and so on. The good news after his hospital visit yesterday is that he doesn't need to have surgery now and can do some weight bearing. He has a special cast that is adjustable over time to help his injury heal and he will be able to get around more than we anticipated. It's still a serious and painful injury, but the recovery sounds much more encouraging now than it did.

If there's a positive in this, it is that he can see some of the World Cup, and he may be able to spend some more time with his Scottish visitors. I'm sure there would've been a less painful way of accomplishing that though Chris. Please pray that Chris's injury will continue to heal well.
