Sunday at Summit

Sorry this is not a picture post, but I forgot to take my camera on Sunday, I'll post some next week. Sunday was our fist visit to Summit Community Church, who meet at a school in Richmond Hill. It's an excellent facility with a large hall area with stage for worship and space for hospitality, as well as lots of breakout rooms for the various children's and youth groups. I was hugely impressed by the committment of so many volunteers who effectively put the church together from a large trailer van into a fully functioning worship experience including first class AV.

The worship was very similar to the style of Hilton, with a praise band and some familiar, as well as some unfamiliar songs. This Sunday saw a start to a new series of sermons on Ephesians, the first of which focussed on the many blessings we receive F.O.C from God. I was particularly struck by the way Pastor Gerry dealt with and explained the usually thorny topic or doctrine of Election. Most importantly we were introduced to a great number of friendly people and were made to feel very welcome. Oh, and the cookies were amazing too!! We continued the day by joining one of the church's small groups for a social, comprising of an excellend BBQ. I wonder why I never seem to end up far from food. We also moved into our basement appartment on Sunday evening, and again, I'll post some pics of it later.
