Today is the eve of our 1 week anniversary in Canada and my third day in the offices of Summit. Laura, Kathryn and Joseph are settling right into life here and doing things like going shopping, going to the park, playing in the garden, doing the washing, and most importantly for Laura - Baking Cakes!!!!! (as you can see from Kieran's birthday post). It's amazing how quickly we've gotten used to day-to-day life here, and whilst we miss our family and friends, we still feel close via email and being able to let you know what's goin on through this blog and reading your comments.
I've been doing some Admin and emailing work this morning and listening to sermons online, of a Pastor in a church north of Toronto which grew by around 250 professing members within two or three years. Matt & I are hoping to meet with him whilst I'm here to learn as much as we can about how this happened, in order to learn different ways of connecting with visitors to our churches without them fearing intimidated or that we're only interested in bums on seats.
We'll be heading out for a meeting with someone who has visited Summit twice, to have lunch and make a connection with them to see how and where they might want to integrate into the congregation.
